Primarily, hydraulic accumulators are available in the bladder, diaphragm, piston and membrane models.  Each model is able to complete a dedicated task within the hydraulic system.  Based on the application, they can be used to:

• Store and conserve system energy
• Dampening hydraulic fluid pulsation
• Aiding in fluid pressure surge alleviation. This function is directly used to reduce the likelihood of loss of control of the flow of fluids within the hydraulic system.

Bladders are hydro-pneumatic accumulators with a flexible bladder. It serves as a separate element between a compressible gas cushion and the operating fluid.

Diaphragm

Diaphragm are hydro-pneumatic accumulators with a flexible diaphragm which is used as a separation element between the compressible gas cushion and the operating fluid.

Piston

Pistons can be used as separating elements and can handle much higher gas compression ratios and flow rates.
